AAI Autumn Cross Country & Masters Trials – (2016 Weekly Report #41)

Well done to everyone in action this week, training or competing. We are now only 2 weeks away from the SSE Airtricity Dublin City Marathon, taking place on Sunday 30th October (a big thank you also to anyone who has volunteered for stewarding).

The next race on the BHAA XC calendar is the Irish Life XC taking place on the Santry Demense on Sat. 17th Nov. with 6k combined start. This is the 2nd race of the BHAA XC 2016 Calendar/Winter League. See link here: https://bhaa.ie/events/irish-life-cc-2016/

First up, congratulations to Mairead O’Saughnessy who was female winner in yesterdays St. Annes parkrun. Excellent running by Mairead.

We had a crew of CSH’ers lads competing today in the Athletics Ireland Autumn Open Cross Country Festival (formerly the Gerry Farnan XC) including the Masters Trials in Abbotstown, Dublin. Neil O’Rourke was 44th overall (27th Senior Male) in the 8,000m race, Paul Cowhie was 101st overall (6th in the M50 category), Dave Hipwell was 16th place in the M45 Category with Mick Fennell finishing 10th in the M55 category. Well done to all competing, full results via Athletics Ireland website: http://www.myrunresults.com/events/autumn_open_cross_country_festival/1877/results
