Dublin City Marathon – (2016 Weekly Report #43)

A big big congratulations to our crew of CSH’ers who took part in the SSE Airtricity Dublin City Marathon, taking place yesterday Sunday 30th October around the streets and districts of Dublin. Well done to everyone competing (and also a big thank you also to anyone who had volunteered for stewarding).


The next race on the BHAA XC calendar is the Irish Life XC taking place on the Santry Demense on Sat. 17th Nov. with 6k combined start. This is the 2nd race of the BHAA XC 2016 Calendar/Winter League. See link here: https://bhaa.ie/events/irish-life-cc-2016/

Well done to Siobhan Carroll who was first of our ladies home in the SSE Airtricity Dublin City Marathon, finishing in a very impressive 3hrs10mins43secs. Marie O’Connell was next home in 3hrs36mins41secs, super running by Marie. Well done to Sara Mofatt finishing in 4hrs11mins15secs. Marie Norris was also in action, finishing in 4hrs27mins25secs. There were no shortage of superb performances by our crew of men with Patrick Coyle finishing in 2hrs56mins28secs and 82nd SM, an excellent run by Podge breaking the 3hr mark, following closely was Ger Clerkin in 2hrs57mins38secs, also under the 3hrs. Next CSH’er home was Ronan Ward in an astonishing time of 3hrs04mins34secs, placing 3rd in M60 category. Colm Brady had a fine marathon debut, finishing in 3hrs05mins21secs. Sean Ryan had a fine run in 3hrs16mins33secs, with a top 20 category placing. Padraig Doyle was next in 3hrs29mins10secs breaking the 3.5 hr mark, with Paul Pugh in 3hrs46mins54secs, running well inside the 4hrs. Keith Farrell, another man dipping inside the 4 hrs, in 3hrs57mins02secs on the clock. Stephen Downey was in action also with a fine run of 4hrs11mins32secs.
