The Business Houses Athletic Association DCC 5K took place in Irishtown on Wed. evening with a modest CSH crew competing. Margaret Moloney was 3rd in her F55 category, very well done to Margaret. Eithne Ni Mhurchadha was also out competing, well done to all.
Loughlin Campion Sn. was 83rd, picking up a team prize. Tom Turner was 96th overall, picking up 2nd in his M70 category. Well done to all and full results via link: https://bhaa.ie/events/dcc-5k-2016/
Next up is the SSE Airtricity Fingal 10k, in Swords, run as part of the Dublin Marathon Race Series at 10am this morning. Shirley Mitchell ran superb to finish 12th overall and 2nd in her F40 category, super running by Shirley. Mairead O’ Saughnessy was next home for the ladies in 53rd, with Joan O’Callaghan in 73rd and Marie O’ Connell in 91st. Marie Norris, Caroline Fallon, Theresa Cullivan and Sarah Moffatt were all running well. Margaret Moloney was a splendid 3rd place in her F55 category, followed closely by Denise Williams. Well done to Aoife Cowhie in action also.
The lads were out in force again this morning. Neil O’Rourke was first CSH’er home in 15th place in a new PB time of 33:29, very well done. Bernard Duggan has shown another rise in the road to full recovery in 21st place. Jason Reilly and Eoin Kealy both running well in 57th and 58th with Podge Coyle following closely behind in a big PB time of 36:43. Stephen Burke had another fine race in 108th with Noel Ryan next of the lads home. Eanna Kavanagh made his return to racing, after a long hiatus, with Bren Farrell in action also. Paul Carolan, Martin Mullarkey, Thomas Moloney, Stephen Downie, Mick McCormack and Sunil Singh all ran well with Tom Turner finishing 4th in his M70 category.
