It was a quiet week this week, racing-wise, for Civil Service Harriers, with much of the crew looking ahead to next weeks Athletics Ireland National Cross Country Championships & Business Houses Athletics Association Eir Cross Country in Cherryfield, (see race info link: https://bhaa.ie/events/eir-cross-country-2016/)
Training continued on all fronts with Tuesday evenings 7pm sessions in Alsaa track and CSH Clubhouse – Phoenix Park, Thursday evening 7pm session at CSH Clubhouse, Saturday morning 10am session & Sunday morning 9:30am long-run from CSH Clubhouse. (Just to note: there will be an Alsaa league race on Tuesday night so be warmed up on the track and ready for action at 7pm).
Team results of last weeks BHAA Bank of Ireland XC in Tymon park are still pending, with prize giving due at next weeks Eircom XC in Cherryfield.
Tomasz Wojciechowski was in action early in the week on his home soil in the UTOPCIA 5k, finishing 2nd overall and 1st in his o30 age category. Very well done to Tomasz. Results are available via link: http://enduhub.com/pl/wyniki/bieganie/2016/styczen/5-km/bierun/ii-bierunski-bieg-utopca-dla-wosp,15078/
Dublin Athletics Board have issued County Teams for next weeks Athletics Ireland National Cross Country Championships in Dundalk, Co. Louth, with four CSH’ers making selection. Following Anna Sadowska’s Silver Medal in last weeks Masters XC she has made selection, Anna will be joined on the o35 Masters Dublin County team by Shirley Mitchell, (in the 4,000m race). Paul Cowhie, who also claimed Silver in last weeks XC, will be on County duty in the o50 Masters team, (7,000m). Dublin Intermediate winner Neil O’ Rourke was selected for the Intermediate men’s squad, (8,000m race). There will be a CSH Intermediate men’s team in action with Neil, Bernard Duggan, Jason Reilly, Patrick Coyle, Ger Clerkin and Andrew Moore competing. Best of luck to all taking part.
