Next weeks AIB/NUI Maynooth Business Houses Athletics Association race will be the final Cross Country race of the Winter Season Calender. The ladies 2 mile and men’s 4 mile races will be held on the playing fields of NUI Maynooth, Co. Kildare (see race info link: (https://bhaa.ie/events/aibnui-maynooth-cc-2016/)
First in action this weekend were a small crew of CSH’ers taking part in the Lusk Half Marathon. We were represented in the men’s race by Barry Ryan and in the ladies with Marie O’ Connell and Marie Norris. Well done to all competing. Full results available in the coming days.
There was another crew in flying-form in Adare, Co. Limerick for the West Limerick Athletic Club 10k, around the scenic roads of Adare village. Claire Egan was 5th lady home in a P.B time of 41:06, Brid Ryan made a return to racing, finishing in an impressive 7th place, super running by Claire and Brid.
Bernard Duggan was equally impressive in the men’s, coming in 5th place race in a time of 34:28. A great time by Bernard on a testing hilly course, returning to his more familiar road racing territory.
