Jingle Bells – (2016 Weekly Report #47)
November 27, 2016We’ll begin this week with a reminder to all CSH’ers that our AGM will take place at 8pm tomorrow, 28th Nov. at the CSH clubhouse. All club members are welcome, it would be great to see as many as possible in attendance.
The Donore Harriers Athletic Club Jingle Bells 5k will take place on Saturday 3rd Dec. in Phoenix Park. Info page and entries via link: http://www.donoreharriers.com/jingle-bells-5k/ We expect a big turnout by the club for this race, followed by some festive cheer that evening!

Congratulations to Lorna Roe who took time out in Wellington, NZ to fly the club colours in the 5k race series. Well done to Lorna. -
BHAA Santry + Clontarf Half – (2016 Weekly Report #46)
November 20, 2016Well done to all CSH’ers competing and training this week.

On Wednesday night over 4,000 took to the city streets for the Dublin Run In The Dark. Ashley Pia Ryan had a great race to finish 8th girl, with Mairead O’Shaughnessy placing in an impressive 10th.

Well done to all who competed in yesterdays Business Houses Athletic Association Irish Life XC in Santry Demense. The BHAA race was a 6km combined start. Ashley Pia Ryan was out in force again with a 5th place in the ladies race. Brid Ryan was next CSH’er home in 8th place, great running by Brid, and Mairead O’Shaughnessy also in action again finishing 9th. Mairead was followed closely by Gemma Treacy who was 4th place in her F35 category. Well done to all.
Paul Cowhie had an impressive race, finishing 12th and 1st in his M50 category. Jason Reilly had a nicely placed 21st position, returning from injury with Dave Hipwell finishing in 30th and 3rd in his M45 category, well done to Dave. Eanna Kavanagh, Martin Prunty and Paul O’Neill were all neck-and-neck in 40th, 41st and 42nd respectively. Patrick O’Reilly was 52nd, with Noel Ryan in 77th. Nick Devery was 89th and Christy Smith 7th M55 home. Well done to Tony Keegan who placed top 10 in his M60 category, and to Ciaran Donaghy and Paul McEvoy in action too. We also had some runners competing yesterday, braving the elements and distance in the Clontarf Half Marathon. Well done to Aoife Fallon (nee Carragher) who had an excellent performance to clock home in 1:39:55. Marie O’Connell had a great run finishing in 1:42:28. Marie Norris was next in 1:56:06, followed closely by Caroline Fallon in 1:56:16. Well done to Lily Power finishing in 1:57:12, another fine run to break the 2hr mark. Well done to all.

Leinster Championship Medals – (2016 Weekly Report #45)
November 13, 2016Well done to everyone competing and training this week. Please note, Sunday morning long-runs from CSH Clubhouse will move to a 9am start… so make sure and set the alarms half-an-hour early.
It was another quiet week of racing with eyes on next weeks Irish Life XC, taking place on the Santry Demense on Sat. 17th Nov. with 6k combined start. This is the 2nd race of the BHAA XC 2016 Calendar/Winter League. See link here: https://bhaa.ie/events/irish-life-cc-2016/

Athletics Leinster issued out Championship results this week following last Sundays Dublin City Marathon (incorporation the Dublin, Leinster and National Marathon Champions). Ronan Ward is a triple silver medal winner with 2nd place in the Leinster M60 Championships, to add to his Dublin and National honours, well done to Ronan. Neil O’Rourke was in action today in the Leinster Senior XC Championships in Tyrrillspass Co. Westmeath, finishing in 11th place overall and scoring on the winning Dublin County team to claim Leinster Gold. Well done to Neil.
